This follows an outpouring of criticism toward both Ford and Prime Minister Trudeau when the US released their projection models and Canada and Ontario continued to withhold their own.
In the past several weeks, Ontario has announced and extended a state of emergency, suspended all evictions, ordered all non-essential businesses to close, closed all public schools, and shut down all playgrounds and sports fields. All of these decisions were based on information provided to Ford and his government from medical professionals.
"I want everyone to know where Ontario was, where we're at now, and where we could be."
Ford and Assosicaite Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Michael Tibollo also announced a new $12 million investment into online mental health support. "This funding is going to help people get the support they need," said Tibollo.
"It's going to be hard for some people to hear. People will see some really stark figures tomorrow," Ford added during question period.
"We're going to be the first government to do this, to show people exactly where we are... we have to be fully transparent with the people of Ontario, they have to know."
