2023 Victoria Residential Builders Association CARE Awards: Winners

On Friday, the Victoria Residential Builders Association held its 32nd annual Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence (CARE) Awards of Vancouver Island at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, with 280 attendees and 51 awards handed out throughout the evening.

The awards highlight the best in home design and home construction across Vancouver Island, whether it be for single-family home construction, kitchen design, or residential renovation.

The Project of the Year (Single-Family) went to Water's Edge, a custom-built home by GT Mann Contracting and Spaciz Design Company, while Project of the Year (Multi-Family) went to Bellewood Park by Abstract Developments.

Wilf Gorter was also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, for his work via Gorter Construction, the company he founded in 2002.

"The CARE Awards highlight Canada's finest West Coast homes, the skilled people behind them, and their contributions to the industry and our community," said Casey Edge, Executive Director of the Victoria Residential Builders Association, in a press release on Monday.

"These projects demonstrate the gold standard for design, sustainability, and professionalism," added Ellie Sercombe, Chair of the 2023 CARE Awards. "Congratulations to the winners and finalists for again showing leadership in housing."
