Residential On-Street Permit Parking Enforcement Has Officially Resumed
Enforcement was resumed as of 12 am today, after the deadline to renew or purchase permits was extended to August 7 in order to maximize the window for residents.
In March, Toronto Police announced that parking enforcement had been suspended for a number of offences, such as on-street parking time limits, in light of the pandemic. However, in July, the City said they were going to begin phasing back in parking enforcement over “the next several weeks.”

The City said that permit holders were contacted directly by mail in July, and that permit office hours were extended for phone and email inquiries.
While the parking permit office remains closed to the public, it can be accessed in the short-term by phone at 416-392-7873, or via email at permit.parking@toronto.ca. Additionally, temporary daily and weekly parking permits can be purchased online anytime online.
