House prices are so high in Toronto that it sometimes feels like you have to be a millionaire just to afford one. But while that’s not entirely true, some of the city’s most expensive properties beg to differ.

A March 2019 report by Roomvu, a Vancouver-based digital marketing company for realtors, found that the priciest properties in Toronto range from a mere $8.9 million to $25 million. To put that in perspective, the average price of a home in the GTA is $1,130,046, according to data released in January by the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD).

What’s even more astounding, however, is that the price tag of Toronto’s most expensive property a converted historic church in Yorkville doesn’t even come close to the priciest property in Canada. That magic number is $59 million, and you’ll never believe where this estate is located!

Surprisingly, it isn’t in Vancouver where you’d expect. Scroll down to find out which city owns the title of having the most expensive property, and to see the top 10 properties with the biggest price tags in Toronto.
