Mattamy Homes brought on homebuilding executive Niall Haggart this week, announcing on Thursday that Haggart has stepped into the role of President for the company’s Greater Toronto Area Urban Division.

In his new post, Haggart will oversee all aspects of Mattamy's development and homebuilding business for GTA Urban.

Mattamy Homes Canada CEO Brad Carr highlights Haggart’s “strong reputation” in the real estate industry, noting that he’s led the development of around 25,000 residential units in mixed-use communities across the GTA. Some of those projects include a mixed-use condominium tower located above the TIFF Bell Lightbox, a master-planned neighbourhood known as Mississauga City Centre, and Daniels City of the Arts.

Haggart comes to Mattamy with more than three decades of urban real estate development experience, the bulk of which was spent on The Daniels Corporation’s executive management team. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Partner for Daniels.

As well, Haggart is an active speaker, consultant, and lecturer within the GTA’s development community, and a member of the Building Industry and Land Development Association’s principals committee, which centres around creating city-building policies and frameworks for responsible and inclusive development throughout the GTA.

"I've known Mattamy Homes for many years, and I've always been impressed by the company's growth trajectory, the strength of the brand, its commitment to quality, and the corporate culture," says Haggart. "I am very much looking forward to leading the team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about growing Mattamy's footprint in the Greater Toronto Area urban market."
