If you're in the market for a new abode and nothing less than dangerously good-looking will do, this bad-to-the-bone property will get your engine revving. The house that stands at 23 Kintyre Avenue was built in the 1980s as the main clubhouse for the Hells Angels, and now you can call it home for a breezy $2.2 million.
Made up of giant cinder blocks, the structure kept the motorcycle gang protected from frigid cold winters, spicy hot summers and -- well -- attacks from rival gangs in the days of yore.
In the mid-90s, a rocket launcher was blasted through the front door of the Riverside house -- an event that led to the property being repossessed by the city. The space was empty for several years and is now being brought back onto the market by current owner, Mark Wilson. Before him, one other individual had ownership of the space following the municipality, and from the days of the gang's presence on-site to now, the home has seen a slew of changes that justify its $2.2 million asking price.
"[The previous owner] lovingly brought the house back to life, including creating the 3-apartment set up which exists today, whilst retaining many of the features from the Hells Angels days, such as the large rear parking pad and rolling gate, which used to play host to the many Harley Davidsons parked out back," reads a letter Wilson wrote about the home.
"From the early days of owning the house, [my wife and I] made a point of attending to every little detail ourselves, to ensure that the property was always kept perfectly and was lovingly restored to its full former glory."

The home's exterior was remodeled in 2017, and now features paving stones in the front and back, a new front doorway, and a full exterior paint job.
"The results were stunning and it gave us a lot of pleasure to have so many neighbours come up to us and say how much they appreciated the way the house," Wilson said. "Many of them remember the Satan’s Choice days with fondness, as although older now, they can still recount times when they were invited to join some of the apparently legendary parties that took place in the house!"
According to Wilson, he and his wife's ownership aligned with an "uplift in the fortunes" in the Riverside area. The Broadview Hotel's opening, alongside other moves made by Streetcar Developments, have contributed, he said. Situated just north of Queen Street, the house is a stone's throw from the bustling strip, Riverside Square, and Joel Weeks Park.
Inside, the space has been broken into three large, open-concept units with outdoor space, parking, and a laneway housing qualification.
