Sales activity in the Toronto real estate market rose sharply this week, indicating early-season buyers are braving the snowy weather to close deals.
While month-over-month gains are exaggerated compared the holiday window that defined the market last month; year-over-year numbers also reveal stronger performance across all home types.
Semi-detached homes saw the largest uptick in sales with a 33 per cent increase, representing 20 units sold. Townhouses saw a 25 per cent increase (15 units), and the condo market went up 3 per cent (107 units). Detached house activity fell -5 per cent shy of last year’s levels, with 56 homes changing hands.
