The City of Toronto’s ice rinks will officially open this weekend -- and this is cause for celebration. On Saturday afternoon the downtown Yonge BIA will mark the opening of the Barbara Ann Scott Ice Trail with skate performances, a DJ, photo ops, fire pits, and games for the whole family. Surround Yourself in Festive Lights 
The annual Cavalcade of Lights returns on Saturday until January 7 to transform the exterior of City Hall into a winter wonderland, with a bustling skating rink front and centre. Special opening day programming begins at 3 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m., with the tree and square lighting ceremony taking place at 8:30 p.m. Find more info here.
