Torontonians braved the cold on Family Day to check out this year's edition of Winter Stations.

Running through March 29, Winter Stations transformed four unused lifeguard stations along Woodbine Beach into works of public art inspired by the theme Beyond the Five Senses. Now in its sixth year, Winter Stations is an international design competition and exhibition held annually as a collaboration between RAW Design, Ferris + Associates, and Curio.

After receiving hundreds of applications from artists from all over the world, the winning installations will liven the urban landscape with abstract pieces, selfie-worthy moments, and more.

In case you didn't make it out to the beach on Monday, here's a look at the winning art installations and the opening day of Winter Stations.
