GO Transit From Toronto To Niagara Falls Makes Weekend Getaways Easy
Niagara Falls is the perfect destination for those looking to escape Toronto for a weekend. So it’s no surprise that GO Transit has just made it easier for city-dwellers to make the trek.
The GO Niagara Seasonal Train service is officially up and running for the duration of the summer. It will operate on weekends (Fridays to Sundays) and holidays, giving Torontonians ample opportunity to experience a change of scenery.
The roundtrip ticket includes GO Train service to Niagara, as well as a two-day pass for the hop-on, hop-off bus service called WEGO. The bus travels throughout Niagara Falls and Niagara Parks, which means visitors can easily explore everything the city has to offer.
Get up close to the falls with Hornblower Niagara Cruises, indulge at The Fudge Factory, play a hand of Blackjack at Fallsview Casino, or speed through an epic Mario Kart-inspired race track. There’s something in Niagara for everyone.
Plus, those who prefer a more relaxing weekend getaway will be happy to know that a ticket for the seasonal service also includes access to the Niagara-on-the-Lake extension. Yes, that means convenient access to Niagara Parks’ wineries!
The cost of a roundtrip varies depending on which station you start from. However, the most transit users will have to shell out is $35 for a roundtrip from Union Station. And, as with all GO Trains, kids aged 12 and under ride free!
Visit Niagara Parks’ website to buy tickets and to see the full service schedule.
GO Transit has been trying to make summer travel more convenient for GTA residents. In addition to the seasonal service to Niagara, the transit company has also partnered with Ontario Northland to offer service to Muskoka from now until Labour Day weekend.
