Toronto has the highest average rent across Canada for the sixth month straight, according to a national rent report by Rentals.ca. A one bedroom now has a price tag of $2,231, while a two bedroom costs $2,735.

But just because Toronto has high rental rates doesn’t mean you can’t find more affordable units in the city. Rentals for under $1,000 do exist, but you’ll have to be willing to compromise on the amenities and be open to settling for a basement unit.
Here, we teamed up with Zoocasa to find the 8 cheapest rentals on MLS in the City of Toronto between May 14 and June 14, 2019. Check them out below!
