The spring housing market continues its warming trend, with sales up by double digits for all home types year-over-year, and on a shorter-term basis.
Demand for detached houses has been getting stronger as the weather improves and open houses return. A total of 117 detached homes changed hands, marking a 50 per cent improvement from the same time frame in 2018, and a 2 per cent increase from March. Semi-detached sales faltered a bit in the short term with 32 sales – down -16 per cent from last month – but 19 per cent higher than last year.
Sales were also up for all types of multi-family housing; Toronto townhouses rose 35 per cent month-over-month with 31 units sold, a 63 per cent increase year-over-year. Condo sales are also up 7 per cent month-over-month and 16 per cent year-over-year with 170 units.
