A week of stormy spring weather, combined with the Easter holiday long weekend, ushered in soggier activity for Toronto’s real estate market, with sales broadly down on both a monthly and yearly basis.
Detached houses saw demand fall -5 per cent month-over-month with 95 units sold, marking a -8 per cent decline. Sales for semi-detached houses remained flat from March at 32 transactions, down -18 per cent from last year. Toronto condos saw the largest month-over-month drop of -21 per cent with 126 units sold, and down -15 per cent from the same week in 2018. Townhouses were with only home type to post an annual gain, up 56 per cent with 28 units sold, but still -10 per cent below last month’s activity.
