All good (and bad) things must come to an end and it's now time to say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024.
With a new year comes new hope, new resolutions, and the sense of reinvigoration that comes with a clean slate. For those looking to start off 2024 strong, we have you covered with a handy guide to what's open and closed around Metro Vancouver, where the weather is expected to be cloudy with a chance of rain.
For those who are heading out via public transit, buses, Seabuses, and SkyTrains will all be running on the Sunday/holiday schedule, with extended hours, on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, while the West Coast Express will not be running on both days, according to TransLink.
As is tradition, all transit will be completely free between 5:00 pm on December 31 and 5:00 am on January 1.
Also as is now tradition, there will not be any (official) New Year's Eve fireworks, which have not taken place since 2018.
Safe travels and happy new year!
