Toronto-based Capital Developments has a new president with the recent appointment of Carlo Timpano.

The premium developer is known for its impressive Toronto condos, like 155 Redpath, the St. Clair Centre, and the West Block mixed use development at Bathurst and Lakeshore (to name a few). Capital Developments is also giving the real estate industry -- and prospective buyers -- something to talk about with anticipated projects in the works, like 11 Yorkville, Azura (Yonge and Finch), and E2Condos (Yonge and Eglinton). Not to mention, there's a slew of exciting projects in the pipeline for the developers.

"Carlo is one of the brightest young executives I have ever worked with," said Todd Cowan, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Capital Developments. "He is a very quick study, applies critical thinking to any problem he is presented, works incredibly well as part of a team, and will no doubt be one of the leading real estate executives in our industry."

Timpano's new position comes after he spent the past two years with Capital Developments as Senior Vice President, Development. His previous work in the industry includes five years spent in senior roles at Oxford Properties Group.

"I am very excited to announce that starting this year, I will be taking on an expanded role, as President of Capital Developments. I am very fortunate to be part of a team of high-calibre, dedicated, and friendly professionals and I look forward to our working together to continue to grow our business," wrote Timpano in a LinkedIn post. "In the coming months, we will be announcing the arrival of several new teammates to assist with the launch of multiple new projects. Stay tuned!"

Capital Developments also announced the appointment of Geoff Matthews as executive vice president.

"In order to promote Carlo to President, we have been fortunate to recruit one of the leading real estate development executives in Toronto, Geoff Matthews, who joined us from Great Gulf in January 2022 as Executive Vice President – Development," says Cowan. "Geoff will lead development and construction activities for Capital Developments."

The recent appointments put Capital Developments in a powerful position to continue to change Toronto's skyline, one shiny new condo at a time.

"Capital Developments' vision is to become one of Canada’s most respected real estate developers, who is known for operating with the highest level of integrity, putting the interests of others ahead of our own, and always doing the right thing," says Cowan.

Naturally, that starts with the right people.
