This is a very significant moment in time for the real estate industry. New construction has slowed to a crawl due to a confluence of factors, including economic conditions, elevated construction costs, tariffs, and buyer sentiment.

It's typical for developers to have projects at various stages, however, at present, many development projects are still lingering under construction — namely, the last wave that reached the construction phase before the market downturn.

Our list of noteworthy developments that were set to complete in 2025 included a healthy count of condominium projects. The list for 2026 does as well, but you can be sure that there will be fewer on next year’s list — and even fewer the following year. Conversely, expect purpose-built rental to make up a majority of the completions in those upcoming years.

In the meantime, here are some notable development projects that are set to complete construction in 2026, according to project websites or confirmed to STOREYS by the developers behind them:

Frame

Developer: Peterson

Location: 2751 Kingsway (5189 Earles Street), Vancouver

The first big insolvency of this era in Metro Vancouver was that of Coromandel Properties, who filed for creditor protection in February 2023. That was around when things started getting challenging, and the amount of insolvencies just skyrocketed from there.

Shortly after Coromandel’s filing, its various development partners cut ties, and have since advanced those projects on their own. The first of those is now set to complete very soon: Frame by Peterson, located in Vancouver’s Norquay Village neighbourhood.

908 Raymur

Developer: Beedie

Location: 908 Raymur Avenue, Vancouver

Few outside of the commercial real estate industry focus heavily industrial buildings, but this project by Beedie in Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood is one that will likely draw mainstream attention, as it’s expected to be Tesla’s largest facility in North America. The two-storey facility will house operations for servicing, vehicle preparation, and delivery, while also housing a vehicle showroom.

The project was first announced in December 2023, spans 120,000 sq. ft, and is expected to be completed this year. Elsewhere, Beedie tells STOREYS that their 45-storey Slate tower in Burnaby is also set to complete in 2026.

Sen̓áḵw, Phase One

Phase One of Sen̓áḵw in Summer 2025. (OPTrust, Nch’ḵay̓)

Developer: Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation (Squamish Nation) + OPTrust

Location: South end of Burrard Bridge in Vancouver, adjacent to Vanier Park

A project that needs no introduction, the first phase of Sen̓áḵw is nearing completion as we speak, after securing the largest CMHC loan in Canadian history in 2022. Phase One consists of three towers between 26 and 39 storeys, with over 1,400 rental units altogether, and some of the community amenities are also set to be completed as well.

The project was being developed by the Squamish Nation through Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation alongside prominent local developer Westbank, but Westbank’s stake in the project was acquired by pension fund OPTrust last summer.

Oakridge Park (Retail)

(QuadReal Property Group, Westbank)

Developer: QuadReal Property Group + Westbank

Location: 650 W 41st Avenue, Vancouver

Another project that needs no introduction is the long-awaited Oakridge Park, the biggest mall redevelopment project in Vancouver. After construction began in 2019, portions of it are finally set to be completed this year after some delays.

Portions that are expected to be completed in the first half of 2026 include the Time Out Market dining hall, the shopping centre, and a large public park. Scheduled to be completed later this year are some of the residential towers, and office space.

Cascades

Developer: Chard Development

Location: 8433 Ash Street, Vancouver

Continuing further south is another multi-tower, purpose-built rental project, set to be completed this year: the two-tower Cascades project by Chard Development — located next to Signal, the multi-tower project completed last year by Intracorp and Oxford Properties.

Cascades consists of a 29-storey tower and a 32-storey tower with a combined 573 rental units, 20% of which will be below-market rental units. The project also includes a large public plaza, retail space, and a daycare to service the growing area.

Perla

Developer: Polygon Homes

Location: 5938 Olive Avenue, Burnaby

Moving over to Burnaby, Polygon tells STOREYS that they are set to complete their 38-storey Perla project this year, after receiving rezoning approval for the project in February 2023. Perla is the first of two towers, with the 34-storey Onyx up next.

Perla is also the latest high-rise tower to complete in the burgeoning area around Central Park in Burnaby, with several completed last year and a handful more currently under construction by various developers.

Concord Metrotown (Phase One)

Phase One of Concord Metrotown is located at the corner of Kingsway and Nelson Avenue in Burnaby. (Concord Pacific)

Developer: Concord Pacific

Location: 4754 Kingsway, Burnaby

Although full completion may drag into early-2027, Concord Pacific is set to substantially complete Phase One of its Concord Metrotown project in Burnaby, located along Kingsway in front of the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre.

Phase One includes the 65-storey Grand tower, the 45-storey Central tower, and the 33-storey West tower, for a total of just under 1,400 condos, as well as a “Sky Park” totalling 66,000 sq. ft. The Sky Park will include a running loop and various outdoor amenities on the roof of the podium that connects the three towers.

Myriad

Myriad will complete Concert Properties’ Heart of Burquitlam community. (Concert Properties)

Developer: Concert Properties

Location: 567 Emerson Street, Coquitlam

Moving east, the 50-storey Myriad condo tower by Concert Properties is right at the finish line, with inspections and final preparations for home handovers beginning just before the holidays.

Myriad caps off the Heart of Burquitlam community for Concert, which included a 32-storey rental building called 55One — completed in partnership with BC Housing and CMHC — as well as the already-open Bettie Allard YMCA.

SOCO (Phase Two)

Developer: Anthem Properties

Location: 311 Alderson Avenue, Coquitlam

Anthem has several master-planned communities on the go right now, and one that is set to hit a completion milestone this year is SOCO — a portmanteau of “South” and “Coquitlam.” Phase One consisted of two towers along North Road, while Phase Two includes a 28-storey condo tower and a low-rise rental building.

Anthem tells STOREYS that Phase Two is completing this month. Anthem completed its 44-storey Nuvo project in Burnaby last month and is also set to complete the 31-storey Georgetown 2 in Surrey, and 11-storey Form in Vancouver in March.

Tether at King George Hub

Developer: PCI Developments

Location: 13740 Fraser Highway, Surrey

Last, but certainly not least, PCI Developments is set to cap off one of its trademark transit-oriented projects this year: the King George Hub in Surrey. Phase One was the Coast Capital Savings office building, Phase Two included two condo towers and another office building, Phase Three included a rental tower called The Line, and Phase Four included two more condo towers, all of which have been completed.

The final phase is the 40-storey rental tower called Tether, which will include 406 units and is set to be completed in Fall 2026. PCI tells STOREYS that there will also be several new retailers opening up shop at King George Hub this year, including: Breka Bakery & Café, Big Way Hot Pot, Anytime Fitness, Sandbox Virtual Reality, and Body Energy Club.
