This past weekend, the Canadian Home Builders' Association of British Columbia (CHBA BC) held its 2024 Georgie Awards Gala, the 32nd edition of the awards show, which honours the best of the BC real estate and development industry.
This year's awards were held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver and had a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme, with purple decor and golden tickets in abundance.
"Each year, we marvel at the projects that are finalists in the Georgie Awards, and this year is no exception," said CHBA BC CEO Neil Moody. "The homes that were finalists and winners are a testament to the innovation and creativity that go into each project. "Everyone involved in building these homes, from conception to completion, must be commended for their outstanding work."
To be eligible for a Georgie Award, the nominee must be a member of the CHBA BC and the submitted project must have been built, renovated, developed, created, or marketed — depending on the award category — between January 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023.
According to the CHBA BC, the finalists and winners were selected by a panel of out-of-province industry professionals, with the results verified by an independent accounting firm.
This year's awards consisted of 52 categories and the winners are as follows.
