Condo living in Toronto just got a lot cozier.

Just in time for what's looking to be a long, cold and snowy winter, you can now have Foodora deliver local craft beer and wine, in addition to pet food and flowers. But only in Toronto, for now.

Foodora has added a  "shops" feature to its platform, letting only people in Toronto  order wine, beer, booze, grocery, health, convenience, pet and home goods for delivery. This is, of course, in addition to the LCBO, which launched a pilot project on the platform in September limited to select downtown LCBO outlets.

David Albert, managing director of foodora Canada in a release: “We know that Canadians are early e-commerce adopters – they expect their preferred retailers to be accessible from anywhere at any time, and foodora is the on-demand piece of this puzzle.”

foodora Canada has plans to launch this feature in other foodora markets in 2020. Also,  several major Canadian retailers willt join the platform in the next few months.

In addition to 7-Eleven, which launched on the service in 2018, and the LCBO, which launched in September, retailers now available under the “shops” section include and exceed the following:

• Wine Rack (11 locations across downtown Toronto)

• Fresh & Wild Food Market (69 Spadina Ave.)

• The Dog Bowl (984 Dundas St. W.)

• Popeye’s Supplements Canada (6 locations across Toronto)

• Pace Pharmacy and Compounding (14 Isabella St.)

• Strange Love Coffee (101 Spadina Ave.)

• Reid’s Distillery (32 Logan Ave.)

• An assortment of 12 local breweries, including Amsterdam Brewhouse, Henderson Brewing Co., and Bellwoods Brewery to the west; Rorschach Brewing Co. and Eastbound Brewing to the east

“When we heard foodora was an option for delivering our beer, we immediately got on board,” said Joey Seaman, head of business development at Bellwoods Brewery said in a release. “This is definitely the most convenient way of getting our beer into the fridges of our local Toronto customers that can’t easily make it to our Bellwoods Brewery bottle shops.

Only Smart Serve-certified foodora riders will be delivering alcohol.

If the order recipient doesn't produce valid ID, appears intoxicated, or attempts to purchase for a minor or impaired individual, foodora says that the delivery will be cancelled, and a $20 restocking fee will be applied.
