If you’re in the market for a dream home makeover and 15 minutes of fame, you may want to start your audition prep.
Netflix has put out a casting call for its popular home renovation show Dream Home Makeover.
Those interested in transforming their home for the world to see can now submit an audition video via the Netflix Reality website.
Now heading into its third season, the show sees Utah-based celebrity design couple Syd and Shea McGee -- the team behind the celebrated Studio McGee -- tackle a home design project. These range from budget-friendly single-room renos, to luxurious transformations of entire homes.
Yesterday, Netflix announced its largest reality show casting call to date, inviting those 18 and older from the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland to try their hand at the reality TV world by submitting a one-minute video for Dream Home Makeover and other shows, like Floor is Lava, The Circle, Too Hot to Handle, Nailed It, and Queer Eye, to name a few.
For those interested, it’s a relatively simple process on the logistics front. After clicking the “submit your video” link on the website, candidates are taken to a page where they click on their reality show of choice. The video should be 60 seconds or less and shot in portrait mode and include your name and where you’re from.
Of course, you also need to describe all the good, bad, and ugly reasons your home is an ideal candidate for Dream Home Makeover, which is known for its dramatic before-and-after reveals and, subsequently, emotional homeowners.
In closer-to-home Netflix news, the streaming service recently announced an upcoming series Motel Makeover, which documents the creation of the beloved (and ever-so-Instagram-worthy) June Motel in Ontario's Sauble Beach.
