With April dominated by economic uncertainty with a side of political uncertainty, hiring across British Columbia's real estate and development industry appears to have slowed down a bit compared to previous months.
However, some of the bigger developers, such as Townline, Wesgroup, and Anthem Properties still made some notable hires or promotions, as did companies in sectors adjacent to real estate, such as EllisDon, Nicola Wealth, and local governments.
Here are all the people who changed jobs or received promotions last month.
Development
- Jamie Read has been promoted to VP of People & Culture at Townline.
- Evan French has joined Marcon as Director of Development, after over three years at Wesgroup.
- Jacqueline Lau has been promoted to Marketing Director at Anthem.
- Brendan O’Sullivan has joined Beedie Capital as Associate Director.
- Charmaine Liang has been promoted to Senior Manager of Investment at Anthem.
- Emilia Loukas has been promoted to Senior Brand Manager at Bosa Properties.
- Amanda Tang has joined SHAPE Properties as Manager of Residential Finance.
- Steve Kim has been promoted to Development Manager at Qualico Communities BC.
- Alex Castello has been promoted to Assistant Development Manager and Manager of Customer of Customer Service at Chard.
- Brett Cudo has been promoted to Property Manager at CAPREIT.
Construction
- Mike Alexander has been named VP of Construction, Vancouver Island at ETRO Construction.
- Connie Ellis has joined EllisDon as its first Director of Mental Health.
- Bob Garnett has joined Ventana Construction as Marketing Manager.
Government and Planning
- Robin Latondresse has joined the Provincial Health Services Authority as Senior Executive Director of Major Capital Projects.
- Carla Eaton has joined the City of Kelowna as Development Planning Manager, after 16 years at the City of West Kelowna.
- Emily Boston has joined the City of Vancouver as Manager of the Business and Economy Office.
- Kathleen Vincent has been promoted to Senior Manager of Corporate Services at the City of Coquitlam.
- Maria Veras has joined BC Housing as Senior Communications Specialist.
- Daniel Broderick has joined the District of North Vancouver as a Planner 2.

- Quinn Leyland has been promoted to Senior Director of Brokerage Operations at Colliers.
- Natasha McAleenan has been promoted to Senior Project Manager at JLL Vancouver.

- Nicholas Ludwig has joined Nicola Wealth Real Estate as Manager of Investments.

- Kieran McConnell has been named President & CEO of Creative Energy.
- Noah Fontanilla has been promoted to Director of Credit Unions at the BCFSA.
- Heather Globush has been promoted to Associate Director at Altus Group.
- Carlos McCallister has been promoted to Director of Customer Success at Spark.
- Christine Steffensen has joined REW as Marketing Manager.

National
- The Canadian Real Estate Association has installed its 2025-2026 Board of Directors, and Valérie Paquin will serve as Chair.
- Don Kottick has been announced the next President of RE/MAX Canada On April 24 after stepping down as President and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada.
- Tara Brown has been named CEO of Peerage Realty.
- Saira Somani has joined Hyyve Canada as CFO.
