Commercial real estate authority Newmark rounded out its Canadian research team this week with the appointment of Andrew Petrozzi to Director and Head of Canada Research.

According to a press release from the company, Petrozzi will plan and execute all Canadian research initiatives at Newmark in his new role and will work closely with the President and Country Head for Canada, Norm Taylor, who joined Newmark this past May to head up the firm’s Canadian expansion.

“Andrew’s research expertise will shape and customize Newmark’s industry-leading research platform for the Canadian market as we scale our footprint and client service across the country,” Taylor says.

Petrozzi comes to Newmark with 13 years of experience in commercial real estate research, including a stint as Head of Commercial Transactions, Data Solutions for Altus Group. Preceding that, Petrozzi was on the research team at Avison Young for nearly 12 years

“Andrew has firmly established himself as a leading research expert and strategist across Canada, well-known for applying an educated perspective, operational excellence, and a results-oriented approach to every endeavour,” says David Bitner, Executive Managing Director of Global Research for Newmark, who Petrozzi will be reporting to.

“His wealth of market knowledge will further strengthen Newmark’s reputation as a go-to resource for Canadian market trends and insights.”

With some 170 offices across the world and approximately $2.7B in revenues generated in 2022 alone, Newmark is considered an industry leader in commercial real estate market intelligence.

“I am honoured to join Newmark and lead the research efforts in Canada,” says Petrozzi. “Newmark’s commitment to delivering the highest level of service resonated with my strong determination to achieve beneficial outcomes, and I look forward to utilizing my expertise to help drive the company’s growth.”
