For those who love embracing the great outdoors as much as cozying up in the comfortable indoors, Eagles Grove may just be the property you've been waiting for.

Eagles Grove — named after the bald eagles that frequent the area — is located at 1220 Starlight Grove in Sooke, a community that sits near the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island, southwest of Victoria and directly across the water from Washington State.

Within Sooke, Eagles Grove sits in East Sooke, just north of Pike Point, Iron Mine Bay, and Iron Mine Bay Beach, all of which are within a five-minute drive from the area.

Eagles Grove is a custom-built cabin, originally constructed in 2020, with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 1,924 sq. ft of serene living space. The dwelling sits atop a 1.16-acre lot that includes a seasonal pond, an additional 419-sq. ft studio cottage, and a standalone sauna room.

A beautifully crafted kitchen, dining space, and living room make up the home's central living space, which sits below vaulted ceilings and faces floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide tremendous views of the forest that surrounds the home. The kitchen is equipped with maple cabinetry and wall panels, suited perfectly to the rest of the interior, which features the use of timber throughout.

The primary bedroom is located on the far side of the main living space, and features 9-ft-high ceilings and a bed-side soaker tub. The second bedroom is located on the upper level of the home, where there is also a spacious 15' x 22' family room that overlooks the main living area below.

Our Favourite Thing

Outside of the main home, down a short but scenic pathway, is a standalone wood-fired sauna, which is also equipped with a cold plunge and outdoor shower. There's enough space for up to six people, and it is the perfect place to unwind, end the day, or enjoy the birds and other wildlife that frequently visit the property.

The separate on-site cottage serves an additional 419 sq. ft of living space, with a 17' x 11' bedroom and a 7' x 11' loft above with attic-like ceilings. There's plenty of space for lounging or to use as a workspace, with huge windows on both sides that provide elevated forest views.

According to the current owners, who have turned the home into a popular short-term rental, Eagles Grove is "a secluded sanctuary for rest and rejuvenation surrounded by the beauty of nature" and "a world of quiet elegance and unparalleled comfort." By the looks of things, it seems like they got that description exactly right.
