Longtime TRREB staple, Von Palmer has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB).

Palmer's role of COO officially took effect July 16.

"My professional journey has entered a new chapter as I welcome my promotion to Chief Operating Officer for the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board. I am eager to tackle the challenges ahead, working with the CEO, Board of Directors and the amazing staff at TRREB," wrote Palmer on Twitter.

Palmer will work alongside TRREB CEO John DiMichele.

“The timing of Von’s promotion to the position of Chief Operating Officer was right, and the Board of Directors are in agreement," says DiMichele. "It positions TRREB to continue to tackle the challenges ahead as Von will assist me with implementing our strategic objectives and overseeing daily operations. This will help steer TRREB in a positive direction, focusing on optimal service levels and member satisfaction."

Palmer joins DiMichele to work with TRREB staff and Board of Directors to deliver member services across all disciplines, including technology and advocacy. No stranger to the organization, Palmer joined TRREB in 1992 as a public policy researcher. He has since worked his way into impactful leadership roles in government relations, industry relations, commercial affairs, and media relations. He will retain the portfolio of his most recent position, chief communications and government affairs/chief privacy officer.

"Over the years, Von has proven himself to be a dedicated leader and strong advocate for TRREB, the membership, and the real estate industry across several departments and Member service areas. In particular, he has played a key role in our advocacy efforts with all three levels of government, the media, and industry relations," says DiMichele.

"Von has helped to shape the voice of TRREB through long-term relationships, and has assisted me in successfully advancing member engagement. I’m confident his extensive background and wealth of knowledge will equip him to successfully assist in continuing to drive our strategic objectives and maintain operational excellence," he adds.
