It's official, LCBO hours have increased. Under Premier Doug Ford's government, LCBO stores, The Beer Store, grocery stores authorized to sell alcohol and off-site winery retail stores are all open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

Previously, alcohol sales were restricted to 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The Ontario government announced plans to increase LCBO hours during the fall economic outlook reveal last month. Yesterday, was the first day the change went into effect.

On Sunday, the province's Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, Michael Tibollo, tweeted about the extended hours saying they "improved choice, access and convenience."

Online, Ontarians seem to be pleased with extended hours. But, only time will tell how many of us are actually take advantage of the new hours.
