Some people really like cabins. Zach Klein is one of those people -- so much so that he put together a book in 2016 called Cabin Porn. That book was enough of a hit that a second iteration in the series, Cabin Porn: Inside, was released in 2020.
Of course, the book didn't simply come out of nowhere, Klein -- a co-founder of both Vimeo and DIY.org and the current CEO of Dwell -- was living his dream at a retreat in upstate New York.
'Beaver Brook' as the property is known, includes some 53-acres spread across a forested landscape that has a beautiful stream (some might say brook) cutting through it.
Not only does the main cabin boast 3,600-sq.ft of exceptional living space spread across a four-story timber frame, but the property also includes three off-grid cabins for anyone looking to escape even further into the landscape.

The main cabin, which could sleep 24+ people if you wanted, is decked out with a steel roof, radiant concrete floors, and features two Rumford fireplaces (one indoor, and one out), a dreamy open chef's kitchen, and Fiber internet, which will surely come in handy for anyone looking to escape from the city, while still being able to get some work done.
Below, the lower level is finished and a glass accordion door leads down toward the stream, where you'll find a wood-fired sauna that's big enough for 12 people and a suspension bridge hung over the brook.

There are also three additional off-grid cabins spread across the property, perfect for those looking for a tranquil place to write, set up their studio, or focus on wellness.
According to the listing, the most notable of these structures is the steel and glass 'Half Tree House', conceived in collaboration with award-winning architecture firm JacobsChang. 'Scott's Cabin,' is a post-and-beam 13 x 13 cabin, that's only a short walk away, and features a cob oven and a deck overlooking the creek, while the third cabin is cantilevered 20-feet over a hillside.
While the property is nestled in the most beautiful and wild landscapes of Upstate New York, it's only a two hour drive from New York City, making it the perfect place to escape from the hustle of everyday life and master a more blissful state of mind.
According to Klein, the property was listed on June 24, but on July 2 he said they were now in contract, meaning the magical slice of paradise looks as if it's no longer available.
Alas, for now, you'll have to settle for simply touring the incredible property below.
