Construction continues on Queen Street East, literally paving the way for a towering 51-storey, mixed-use condominium project that will span a full city block.
Located at Church and Queen, the development will house 534 residential units and 10,360-square metres of non-residential office and retail use, according to documents submitted to the City of Toronto.
88 Queen is a new phase of the successful 88 North Condos by St. Thomas Developments Inc., which will be housed on top of a 7-storey podium with five levels of underground parking with room for 264 parking stalls.
According to the project's website, when complete, the tower will have suites ranging in size from 1 bedroom to 3 bedrooms. There will be 13 units on floors 8 through 41, with 8’6 ceiling height, floors 28 through 50 will have 12 units each with 9-foot ceilings, while the penthouse will offer a 10-foot ceiling. The average price per sqft is about $1300 and all units will have a balcony. Units are said to start at $600,000.

The project is said to "re-define" the modern condominium experience with shops, cafes, parks, restaurants, and a contemporary workout facility located within the compound.

Residents will be a short walk from the Eaton Centre, Queen Street subway station, the PATH, and a variety of restaurants, educational institutions, and entertainment complexes.
When all construction is complete, the development will include a total of four towers and will take over an entire block from Queen Street to Shuter Street. One of the towers (88 North) is almost complete and will contain approximately 534 condo units, 558 rental suites, and 100,000-sq.ft of office space.
