Fifty-one awards were handed out Friday to the top performers in the GTA real estate industry in an exciting evening full of drinks and food by Peter and Paul's Event Catering at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan.
Once a year more than 1,000 real estate industry professionals gather in Toronto to acknowledge excellence in the bustling and booming GTA housing industry.
The Building Industry and Land Development (BILD) Awards honour those who have shown distinction in numerous facets of the new homes sector, from community planning to construction, building design to marketing and public relations.
A glamorous evening Friday at a sold-out cocktail event at Vaughan's Universal Event Space set the stage for an important gathering of industry players to celebrate everyone who has made a mark in the real estate sector. Now in its 37th year, BILD highlighted achievements in 51 categories, from Home Builder of the Year and Project of the Year, Best New Community, Best Home, Suite and Building Design, Best Marketing, Best Sales Office and Best Customer Care, and the anticipated People's Choice Award.
Top honours of the evening went to Tridel, which won several awards including Home Builder of the Year Mid/High-Rise, Green Builder of the Year Mid/High-Rise and the prestigious People's Choice Award, for its Aquabella community.
The Brand Factory was the big winner in the Marketing category, with four awards. Montana Steele and L.A. Ink each won in two categories, and Gladstone Media was recognized for Best Website, Mid/High-Rise.
Other highlights: Mattamy Homes won the award for Home Builder of the year Low-Rise, and The Rockport Group took home top honours for Best New Community (Planned/Under Development ) for Western Common. Best New Community (Built) went to the Remington Group. Project of the Year Mid/High Rise went to Tridel for Aquabella, while Project of the Year Low-Rise went to Geranium Homes and the Pemberton Corp.
Taking home the exciting Lifetime Achievement Award was Al Libfeld, principal and a co-founder of Tribute Communities, for his outstanding commitment to the Toronto real estate industry. He is a past president of the Ontario New Homebuilders' Association.
