The annual Bloor-Yorkville Icefest is taking place this weekend, transforming the neighbourhood into a magical display of over 70,000 lbs. of crystal-clear ice carved into captivating sculptures. This year's theme is 'Awesome 80's' and each sculpture will be inspired by the music, art, film and fashion of the decade.

As a result, the event will cause a number of road closures this Saturday and Sunday (February 8 and 9). The scheduled road closures include:
- Bellair Street will be closed from Critchley Lane to Yorkville Avenue on Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm
- Cumberland Street will be closed from Old York Lane to Bellair Street on Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm
Also, keep in mind, there will also be no subway service between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations for maintenance work. As a result, six subway stations will be closed all weekend long.
