Hosted in Orlando, Florida, The NAHB Nationals recognize the elite in urban development and design, with 1,200 entries spread across 61 categories celebrating the best in the industry in terms of product and community design, advertising, marketing, and sales.
Camrost Felcorp beat out entries from across the continent, all vying for top spot in the Community of the Year category. Entrants were judged against rigorous standards including marketing and design, influence among their target markets, and overall sales success.
“We are thrilled to be taking the Gold back to Canada,” says Camrost Felcorp’s Vice President of Development, Joseph Feldman. “For a Mississauga-based project from a Toronto-based developer to be chosen best in North America is particularly satisfying, and reinforces what the local market has known for a long time -- that the Exchange District is a pretty special community. And something worth celebrating.”

A multi-use development located adjacent to Square One Centre, Exchange District brings over two million square feet of retail, shopping, dining, office and commercial spaces to Mississauga’s flourishing downtown. Led by Henry Burstyn, architect and Partner at the Toronto office of IBI Group, the project includes three luxury condo towers, a boutique hotel, and a rental residence, blended seamlessly into a fine-grain streetscape, and flanked by green space and a public square.
“We take great pride in all the communities we build, but the Exchange District is something special,” says Christopher Castellano, VP Sales & Marketing, Camrost Felcorp. “We were determined to assemble Canada’s leading consultants to work with us on the project and encouraged them to deliver an exceptional project without exception. Last night’s distinctions which recognized the project’s planning, architecture, marketing and sales approach confirm that our team succeeded in creating something exceptional.”
