There are three basic rules for Labour Day; one, wear white because it's the last day of the year it's allowed, two, try not to think about summer ending, and three, make sure you know what's open and closed on the holiday Monday. The last thing you want is to be stranded without snacks, transportation, or a fun Labour Day weekend activity.
The statutory holiday, which falls on Monday, September 2 this year, will mean the closure of many government and public services for the day. Nonetheless, there will be plenty to see and do around the city, though some stores, services, and attractions will observe modified hours.
In short, be sure to plan ahead to ensure you make the most of the day.
