The spring market rush is starting to peter out as summer weather finally sets in across the GTA. Buyers and sellers with the luxury of time are stepping away from the buzz of the market as cottage country and long weekends beckon. That’s led to a month-over-month decline in sold listings in Toronto for all home types, though some segments continue to post year-over-year gains.
A total of 91 detached houses sold, marking an 8 per cent improvement from the same time period in 2018, though down -58 per cent from the end of May to early June. Semi-detached house sales were down both on a yearly and monthly basis by -50 per cent and -13 per cent, respectively, with 34 transactions. Sales performance for multi-family housing was also mixed with townhouses experiencing a stronger year than last, up 5 per cent with 23 units sold, though down -28 per cent from last month. Condo unit demand, however, continues to lag both from a monthly and yearly perspective, down -12 per cent and -47 per cent.
