It was a softer week overall for the fledgling spring market, with sales gains posted only for single-family homes on a short term basis; activity across all home types was down or flat when compared to the same time frame last year.
A total of 126 detached houses sold, marking a 29 per cent increase from March, but -8 per cent below 2018 levels, while semi-detached houses rose 14 per cent month over month, and fell -28 per cent year over year with 33 transactions. There was also a drop in buyers looking to purchase a townhouse for sale in Toronto with only 18 sold, a monthly drop of -25 per cent, though unchanged from last year. Condo sales were less scathed, dropping -3 per cent month over month and -7 per cent year over year, with 151 units changing hands.
