Yes, we know it was a long winter. But what if you could experience one of the best parts of winter — with glorious summer weather? Well, you can! Just head out to Toronto's only outdoor summer skating rink.
The synthetic rink, at Ontario Place, which was set to open May 19, will remain open all summer long. We were just there this morning, while it was getting "Zambonied, " so to speak.
You can skate by the lake, under the magic of the stars and light exhibits. And guess what?
Well, you've probably already guessed, because it's in the headline: skating is FREE.
Should you need to rent skates, there is a small fee.
Of course, there's so much more to do at Ontario Place.
Starting in June, there will be a weekly music series in Trillium Park. There are also four full-sized beach volleyball courts planned, three brand-new outdoor Ping-Pong tables, and a life-sized chess game. Not to mention all the food and snack trucks.
So if you're ever not sure what to do or where to go this summer, just head to Ontario Place — because everything you could possibly need in gorgeous summer weather will be there.
Don't forget your sunscreen!
