When you think of Christmas, you probably think of Santa and the North Pole, but as it turns out, you should be thinking of Canada. After all, Canada is the most Christmassy country in the world!
No, we aren't making this up. Taxi2Airport actually ranked 25 countries to see which was the most festive, and Canada came out on top.
Giving each country a score out of five per category, the airport taxi service compared Christmas travel recognition, the chance of snow, Christmas search habits, Christian population and the popularity of Christmas music in each country.
With a total score of 19 out of 25, Canada nabbed first place.
"Canada ranked in the number one spot thanks to the impressive amount the population listens to Christmas music," the website revealed. Canada's favourite Christmas song shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, it's none other than Sarah McLachlan’s Away in a Manager.
Canada also received high scores for Christmas search interest and Christian population. According to the site, 67.3 per cent of the country identifies as Christian.
With just a 44 per cent chance of snow on Christmas Day, Canada almost lost the title to Norway. Thankfully with tourist destinations like Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and Lake Louise, Canada edged out the competition in the travel category.
