The 2019 housing market continues to be a slow one, though there are some early signs of thawing. While month-over-month sales were steeply down between 49 — 64 per cent across all home types, the week-over-week picture is much more cheery.
The largest uptick was seen in the semi-detached segment with sales up a whopping 80 per cent with nine homes sold. That’s followed by multi-family housing — including condos for sale in North York, East York, Scarborough and Etobicoke as well as the downtown core — which rose 60 per cent with 67 units sold.
Townhouses followed with a 50 per cent increase (six sales). Detached homes went up 29 per cent (27 sales). Detached homes were also the only home type to post a year-over-year increase of 8 per cent. The rest of the market experienced annual declines between 14 – 25 per cent.
