The spring housing market continues to see year-over-year improvement, though demand for homes for sale still lingers below activity during the same week in April.
Detached houses saw sales rise 34 per cent from 2018 with 133 transactions, though still -16 per cent below last month’s levels. Semi-detached houses, however, had a stronger showing – a total of 48 sold, marking a 50 per cent year-over-year increase, and up seven per cent month over month.
Condos were the only home type to slide on an annual basis; a total of 169 units sold, down -2 per cent from 2018 and -16 per cent from April. The townhouse segment, however, saw modest improvement with 30 transactions – that’s a 200 per cent increase from the 10 that sold last year, and flat month over month.
