New Renderings and Details Released of Nordik Spa Opening in Whitby

Those who have been patiently waiting for the new Scandinavian spa to open outside of Toronto later this year are in for a surprise, as new details and renderings of the highly-anticipated Nordik Spa-Nature in Whitby have been released.

A spokesperson for Groupe Nordik confirmed to Toronto Storeys that the company is targeting an opening date between the end of November and the beginning of December, with the exact opening date to be announced in June. So yes, holidays at the spa will be a thing this year.

Located just 45 km from Toronto in Cullen Central Park (300 Taunton Road) in the heart of Whitby, the new spa will be able to accommodate 1,100 visitors at a time.

“After months of planning and preparation, our vision for Nordik Spa-Nature Whitby is finally coming to life, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first guests for Fall of 2020,” reads a statement on the spa’s website.

Described as a “relaxation and healing centre that focuses mainly on heat therapy and relaxation techniques from Scandinavian countries, "the spa will invite guests to enjoy a multi-sensory experience in a natural setting that is said to contribute to one’s health and well-being."

Ahead of the spa’s opening, guests can begin to look forward to various dry and steam saunas, outdoor pools — including hot, cold, and temperate — waterfalls, and multiple outdoor and indoor rest areas that will allow them to experience the thermal cycle any time of the year.

However, the Groupe Nordik spokesperson said pricing details won't be released until August. Toronto Storeys also received new renderings of the spa, which give a further idea of what guests can expect once it opens.

The new Whitby spa will be the Nordik Group’s third location in Canada, with others already open and running in Chelsea, QC and Winnipeg, MB.
