THE INSIGHTS

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Vaughan, Ontario.

What neighbourhood do you live in now?

I currently live in Toronto's Liberty Village neighbourhood.

What made you want to become a real estate agent?

My passion is architecture and marketing made me want to become a real estate agent, and I feel like I use my past experience and skills to properly market my properties in a unique way -- a way that's different than other agents.

What’s the biggest challenge you see facing the market today?

The market is changing and everyone, including sellers, buyers and agents, need to adapt and accept it. Listing a home on the MLS is not enough. You need to think about unique ways to promote and get the most exposure as possible.

What’s the single best advice you have for sellers?

Price your home right the first time or you will miss the opportunity to sell it at a good/fair price.

What’s the single best advice you have for buyers?

Dot your “i’s” and cross your “t’s.” Prioritize what is most important to you and be able to adapt and be open to change and suggestions.

What’s the best thing a realtor can invest in for their brand (a bus bench ad, a solid Instagram strategy, etc.)?

Invest in yourself. Make sure you are represented the way you want people to view and perceive you. Having a strong brand identity and marketing strategy via social media is the most important lead generation/referral base.

Who do you look up to in the industry and why?

Barry Cohen is someone I look up to. He has been a staple in the luxury market and is very well respected in the industry. He encompasses all the characteristics and results I strive towards.

Is there anything you wish people knew or understood about realtors that you think they’re constantly getting wrong?

Realtors are human just like you. Most are looking out for the best interests of their clients. We are experts in the field. Trust our advice.

Tell us about your favourite (or most memorable) sale.

My favourite sale was the $20M property I sold in Shanty Bay (on Lake Simcoe in Oro-Medonte). I marketed the heck out of the property and ultimately sold it within three months, which is unheard of in the area and at that price point. The exposure of this property was to 109 International countries, Forbes 500 offices, every professional sports locker room, etc.

What are the three words you hope your clients use to describe you?

Transparent. Creative. Honest.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of selling houses?

Travel the world in more of the unorthodox vacation destinations.
