In the past weeks, the completion of a purpose-built luxury rental building in the heart of Forest Hill South was celebrated via a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
The momentous event opens the door to a new type of rental lifestyle in Toronto.
Having taken place at 215 Lonsdale Road -- the site of the now-complete 2Fifteen -- the late September evening's ribbon cutting saw current, future, and prospective residents, brokers, developers, consultants, and the project team's family and friends gather at the luxury rental's doors, to honour the build's highly-anticipated finalization.
"This is an amazing evening, an evening of celebration," said Kellie Speakman, VP, Residential, as she welcomed the crowd on a beautiful, albeit windier than expected, occasion.
Echoing the feeling of jubilation in the air, Bryan Levy, CEO, DBS, took the mic to thank all of those involved in bringing the building to its competition.
"Tonight's a celebration. We've been working on this building for six years, dating back to 2016... Our vision here in creating this experience was to create a new standard for luxury rentals, and what we've done here, we believe is the first of its kind in this wonderful city, this wonderful community of Forest Hill.
Nothing in Toronto was built to this standard in our opinion and we feel that this is the first, it won't be the last, but it's the first building of this stature in our city, and we hope you enjoy it."

Located just steps from Forest Hill Village and the lively intersection of Yonge and St. Clair, 2Fifteen stands where homey coziness meets urban cool; chic eateries and small-owned shops are close enough to be explored by foot on a Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Lonsdale Road itself boasts lush treelines and established estates, welcoming one home at the end of the day.
Meeting a long-unsatisfied need for rightsizing residents who prefer rental living, but who don't want to sacrifice the fine things they've become accustomed to in life, 2Fifteen aims to offer city life with a side of comfort -- and it succeeds.
Suites in the building range in size from 580 to 2,150 sq. ft, while layouts include 1, 2, 2+1, and 3-beds. Where design is concerned, regardless of size or room count, each suite feels spacious and serves refinement. High-end finishes mingle with customized closet millwork, spa-like baths, and Gaggenau appliances, creating a space that all at once inspires and soothes.
The offerings and services at 2Fifteen exceed those typically found in a Toronto rental or condo building -- even some of the most lavish. With rightsizers (who are likely embracing the freedom of retirement) in mind, premium programming like cooking classes and wine tastings are poised to run in house. A state-of-the-art gym and fitness centre -- boasting full towel service -- awaits those keen on upping their heart rate, while the 17th-floor rooftop terrace is perfect for winding down with a book in the evening.
Residents can also anticipate a 24/7 doorman, a hotel-like concierge, secure parcel management, and all-hours support from staff -- not to mention the option of private car wash and detailing services.
A classy night out is never far from home with the likes of Sotto Sotto, one of the city's favourite Italian restaurants, waiting just a short jaunt down Avenue Road. Pre- or post-meal, luxury shopping can be enjoyed along Yorkville's Mink Mile. And of course, further urban pastures -- the waterfront trail, Evergreen Brick Works, or High Park -- are always just a short drive or Uber ride away.
For urbanites looking to shed the excess without losing the extravagant, a purpose-built luxury rental presents the perfect solution. And as 2Fifteen celebrates its official ribbon-cutting in Forest Hill, a new take on "balanced" living is introduced to Toronto.
