The Toronto real estate market experienced a slight uptick between the end of November and the start of December, especially among detached single-family homes which saw activity improve 24 per cent from 2017. While still 24 per cent below November sales, this is likely indicative of buyers rushing final deals through in the final weeks before the holidays. Townhouses also saw an improvement, both month-over-month and year-over-year, up 33 and 5 per cent, respectively.
However, sales continue to soften for semi-detached homes (down 28 and 41 per cent) as well as condos for sale in downtown Toronto, which fell 31% monthly, and 43% from 2018.
