It has been a particularly strong week for real estate sales, with positive gains seen across all home types in both the 416 and 905-area markets.
A total of 136 detached houses in Toronto changed hands, more than doubling from last month by 116 per cent, and up 8 per cent from last year. In the 905 a total of 474 sold, marking increases of 55 per cent month-over-month and 33 per cent year-over-year. Semi-detached activity experienced a similar boom with 44 Toronto sales, up 110 per cent month-over-month and 19 per cent year-over-year. A total of 91 sold in the 905, up strongly by 60 per cent from September, though flat from the same time period in 2018.
Demand is also surging in the multi-family housing segments; a total of 31 townhouses sold in the 416, up 24 per cent month-over-month and 82 per cent year-over-year, with similar results in the 905 with 72 sales, up 29 per cent month-over-month, and 60 per cent year-over-year. The slumping condo market also perked up with a total of 189 units sold in the city, an increase of 39 per cent month-over-month and 29 per cent year-over-year, while 275 sold in the 905, up 42 per cent and 33 per cent, respectively.
