The Toronto real estate community is doing its part to support the city's front line healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
First launched on April 9, a GoFundMe campaign has been organized with the intention of raising $75,000 to "successfully source materials and 3D print high quality face shields for our frontline workers." The shortage of PPE in Ontario (and throughout much of the world) hasn't been a secret, and any additional equipment will surely be welcomed.

Additionally, Ontario just announced that all frontline workers in the province currently fighting COVID-19 will be receiving a temporary “pandemic pay” of $4 per hour on top of their regular existing wages.
According to the GoFundMe campaign, the Toronto real estate community initiative is a "partnership led by Fitzrovia Real Estate, DiamondCorp, Tricon Capital Group, and CentreCourt Developments" that has "teamed up with architecture firms Quadrangle, IBI and Turner Fleischer."
The first production of the face shields will be delivered to Michael Garron Hospital and North York General Hospital, while any additional funds raised will be donated to hospitals and/or organizations supporting individuals and families affected by COVID-19.
As of April 29, the campaign has raised nearly $55,000 of its $75,000 goal. If you'd like to join the more than 50 donors who've already committed to the initiative, please go here to donate.
