Just over three years after its last store closed, Zellers is making a triumphant return to the Canadian market.
On Thursday, March 23, Zellers stores in Ontario and Alberta will open their doors to nostalgic shoppers and eager bargain hunters alike. Located within the Hudson's Bay, the 12 stores' opening will coincide with the launch of the Zellers.ca e-commerce platform.
The Zellers Diner on Wheels will make its rounds to the new stores following the opening date, with a full schedule of its whereabouts to come.
Spanning between 8,000 and 10,000 sq. ft each, the Zellers stores will offer a range of products, including kitchen items, home decor, kid's toys, and men's and women's clothing. Although the stores will introduce a refreshed identity, they'll still tap into the brand's beloved history.
"We know how special Zellers is in the hearts and minds of people in Canada. 'Where the lowest price is the law' was a calling card, which has helped Zellers establish itself as more than a retail destination, but a place to build and support community," Adam Powell, Chief Business Officer at Zellers, said in a press release announcing the store's relaunch.
"Zellers is a brand deeply rooted in the Canadian experience. Spanning generations, people hold distinct connections to Zellers through shared experiences with family and friends, and we look forward to building on that in the future."
