If today’s chilly temperatures and gloomy sky weren’t enough to put you in a bad mood, the morning commute on the TTC most certainly would, as many riders were delayed after service shutdowns on two TTC lines impacted the rush-hour service.

Just before 8 am, those riding on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth were informed a signal program at Warden Station would cause delays of up to 15-minutes eastbound between Pape and Kennedy stations while crews fixed the issue.

Shortly after 8 am, the TTC said those riding northbound on Line 1 Yonge-University would expect “major delays” following a medical emergency and as a result service was halted between St Clair West and Glencairn.

Some riders tweeted they were stuck on the subway for over 20-minutes as they waited for the situation to clear, which according to the TTC, included a customer that needed EMS and was unable to move from the train.

In true TTC fashion, the service disruption caused chaos at the stations, as commuters were forced to cram on platforms as they waited for trains, a scene that can make anyone feel claustrophobic.

As commuters waited for service to resume, the TTC said shuttle buses were on the way to ease congestion.

However, just before 9 am, the TTC said regular service had resumed on Line 1.
