Toronto has expensive homes. But it could be worse. We could have expensive homes and crazy-expensive gas like Vancouver.

The West Coast city is now paying some of the highest gas prices in North America. Gas reached 150.9 cents a litre on Wednesday, and experts predict it will still go up. In fact, analysts warn it could reach a record-breaking 160 this summer.

According to Dan McTeague of GasBuddy.com, the price has jumped 20 cents over the last couple of weeks. This is the highest price amongst all major cities in North America. (But not the highest Vancouverites have paid — gas was 156 cents a litre back in July 2014.)

As of the time of publishing, average gas prices in the GTA are at 123.9 cents a litre. Now go out and treat yourself to some —relatively — cheap gas.
