The August Civic Holiday is right around the corner, and although for many that means an extra long, relaxing weekend, for Toronto residents, it's also another day of navigating road closures.
Some closures are already in effect and will last until the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 1, while others will only affect certain days throughout the weekend. Some of the closures are spurred by ongoing construction, but others will close down for events planned throughout the weekend like Toronto's annual Caribbean Carnival.
Luckily there aren't any TTC shutdowns scheduled for this weekend, but there will be adjustments made to bus and streetcar service as they navigate around closed roads.
The City is advising that anyone who needs to drive in the general vicinity of road closures consider alternate routes and allot extra times to get to their destination.
