Where did you grow up?
I was born in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Where do you live now? And what neighbourhood (in Canada, or worldwide) would you love to live in (that isn’t your own)?
I live in Leaside and ultimately, my goal is to relocate to Niagara-on-the-Lake when I retire.
How did you end up becoming a real estate agent?
I grew up as part of a long line of realtors and developers. My father was a developer, and my sisters are top realtors in the Burlington area. It’s in our blood!
In a few sentences, describe what a typical “day in the life” looks like for you. Does this align with what you expected before you became an agent?
I’m disciplined, my time is structured, I’m detailed-oriented. I’m in my office by 8 am to review market news and new property listings. I’m committed to my workout at lunch, then off to appointments through to the early evenings. Our schedules as realtors are unpredictable, I try to accommodate my clients and prospects schedules as best I can, while establishing wellness boundaries for myself and my family.
What’s the single best advice you have for sellers?
Pricing! Pricing! Pricing! Be realistic, leave emotion out of it, rely on your realtor’s professional advice.
What’s the single best advice you have for buyers?
If you follow the advice of your realtor and it’s meant to be, it will happen. If not this one, there’ll be another. Move forward.
What made you choose to work for your current brokerage?
Bosley is an industry leader with over 90+ years of real estate expertise at its realtors’ disposal. It’s a boutique family-based brokerage that supports its realtors with great resources and support.
Who do you believe is making the biggest waves in the industry today? Is there anyone you recommend people should be paying attention to right now?
I’m not sure it’s who, as opposed to what: interest rates, affordability, mortgage rule changes, and other external influences such as government uncertainty.
What is one professional goal you have for the next year? What’s one that you have for the next 10 years?
As always, I strive for consistency, honesty, and delivering exceptional client services. I give prospective clients a clear view of what to expect when we work together. I tell them what they need to hear, not always what they want to hear! I will not agree to work with unrealistic sellers or buyers, although they often come back to me after following their own advice. In ten years, I hope to have satisfied all my career goals and enjoy my retirement.
Tell us about your favourite (or most memorable) sale, and why it stands out to you.
My interaction with all my sellers and buyers has contributed to where I am today. They all help maintain my position as 'Top 5' at Bosley year after year and I’m grateful for all of them.
