Located nearby the East Don River valley park lands, a proposed 'Central Park' development could be coming to the Sheppard-Yonge area. The project will not embody its New York City namesake but instead be built where a business park now stands.
Designed by Core Architects, a proposal has been submitted to the City of Toronto by Amexon Development Corporation. The development would include a multi-tower, mixed-use project with five buildings at different heights, which range from 12 to 31 storeys. Overall, there would be 1,478 residential condominium units at the 1200 Sheppard Ave. site, according to Urban Toronto.

This development would have business and retail spaces alongside 538 one-bedroom units, 792 two-bedroom units, and 148 three-bedroom units. Within the proposal, there are designs for public outdoor spaces in the area surrounding the development, which would be privately-owned. Plus, the remains of the business park are set to be developed too.
