Caribana weekend is right around the corner. The first weekend in August isn't just the Civic Holiday, it's also the peak of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
Join tourists and masqueraders in Toronto this weekend as they celebrate everything Caribana has to offer. From a King & Queen Showcase to a party with Lebron James to The Grand Parade, there's so much to see and do at Caribana.

Here’s everything you need to know before attending the 2019 Caribana weekend…
When
The Grand Parade starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Exhibition Place and Lakeshore. Masqueraders will wind their way from Exhibition Place east along Lakeshore Blvd. before turning back to Exhibition Place. The Grand Parade is an all-day event, which is expected to end around 9 p.m.
With the parade taking place along the Lakeshore, you can bet traffic will be heavy. Here is a list of all the road closures to keep in mind this weekend.
Ticket Prices
If you plan on watching the parade from within the Exhibition grounds, general admission tickets range from $15 for kids to $25 for adults. General admission gives you access to see the opening ceremony and main stage competition from bleachers on-site. With the cost of your ticket, you will also get access to the main beer tent, food vendors and amenities.
For the VIP experience, which includes access to a VIP Pavillion fully stocked with premium drinks, amenities and a catered lunch, adults can expect to pay $125 while children will be charged $95.
Those looking for the ultimate experience can purchase a VIP Booth priced at $4,995. The VIP Booth includes space for 10 people, five premium bottles of alcohol, a catered lunch and a dedicated server. VIP booths are located next to the Judges Pavillion at the main stage.
Of course, if you just want a glimpse of the parade, you can always head over to Lakeshore Blvd. and watch the masqueraders and steel drum performers for FREE!
What To Bring
The Grand Parade is the largest event at Caribana and it's a full-on celebration, so come prepared with costumes, colourful clothing and comfortable shoes. You can also bring sunscreen and sunglasses as well as money to buy beverages on site.
What To Know
As with all major events in the city, the earlier you can get there, the better. And, once you do get there, be sure to set a designated meeting spot so you know where to meet your friends in the event you get separated.
If you're attending multiple Caribana events this weekend remember each event has its own dress code. Some venues may require you to dress up, so check your tickets before you leave to ensure you won't be turned away at the door.
The Grand Parade Map
In addition to the Grand Parade, the final week of Caribana festivities includes the King & Queen Showcase on August 1 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Lamport Stadium, DAYLIGHT with Lebron James at Lavelle on August 2 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the 2019 Pan Alive Panorama from 6 p.m. to midnight on August 2 at Lamport Stadium.
