In today’s real estate industry, Camcos Living stands out not only for the homes the company builds, but for the people shaping them.

With a full-time team comprised by 50% women, the company serves as evidence that a strong female presence in the development sphere is more than just possible — it’s powerful.

Championing a diverse team with a wide range of backgrounds, Camcos is making a mark in an industry where such representation is oftentimes the exception, rather than the rule. In fact, here, women aren’t just part of the conversation — they’re leading it.

From development and finance to customer experience and procurement, and from estimating and project management to on-site operations and the design studio, women are driving Camcos forward at every level. Leadership isn’t confined to the boardroom — it’s embedded throughout the organization, shaping strategy, execution, and the company’s future.

Building With Expertise and Resilience

Diana Tweedy, a Site Superintendent at Camcos, notes that thriving in this high-pressure, fast-moving environment requires a specialized skillset; one she’s honed over years of focus on delivering exceptional homes and delighting customers.

“Organization is one of the most important skills to have in construction,” Tweedy explains, while highlighting the importance of problem solving. “Things are always changing on site, and adapting and thinking fast are important.”

“The number one piece of advice I would give,” she says to other women keen on entering the field, “is to be persistent and have a thick skin. This industry can be tough, but pushing through, persevering, and being ambitious go a long way. In the end, seeing the finished home is incredibly rewarding.”

Financial Leadership That Drives Growth

While Tweedy spearheads integral site management and strategy, Neghan Alim — Director of Finance at Camcos — leads another of the company’s pillars for growth and long-term vision: the monetary realm.

“At Camcos, our financial strategy serves as the foundation for sustainable growth,” says Alim. “By ensuring strategic allocation of resources, managing risks effectively, and optimizing capital investments, our financial planning enables us to execute on key projects while positioning the company for long-term success.”

Reimagining the Homebuying Experience

One of the company’s wisest investments, as of late? The Experience Centre. Camcos’ 7,000-sq.-ft hub, located at 100-7880 Keele Street in Vaughan, welcomes visitors into a space designed to reflect not just the company’s values, but the leadership of the women shaping it. Women at Camcos are driving innovation at every level — ensuring homeowners feel supported, empowered, and engaged throughout their journey.

“The Experience Centre reflects our values at Camcos Living. It’s all about connecting with our customers on a deeper level,” Alim says. “By offering an immersive experience, we’re able to bring our vision to life and help customers visualize their future homes, making the buying process more personal and informative.”

Designing More Than Homes — Creating Lasting Experiences

Part sales hub, part design studio, and entirely immersive, the Experience Centre is built to empower buyers, streamline decisions, and elevate the homebuying process, all underscored by the power of a robust leadership team.

For Mimi Malik, Director of the Design Studio at Camcos, the Experience Centre is about much more than just finishes and floor plans — it’s about creating a memorable and engaging homebuying experience.

Malik describes the Centre as being purposeful in its design, pointing to tall glass walls — showcasing endless design possibilities — as an example of form meeting function.

“I believe the design studio experience should be one that leaves a positive imprint on the customer.”

That philosophy extends beyond the Design Studio and into every stage of the homeowner journey.

A Customer-First Approach

“At Camcos, a homeowner’s experience isn’t just a series of touchpoints — it’s a journey built on trust, support, and meaningful connections that extend well beyond move-in day," says Kavita Patel, Experience+ Manager at Camcos.

"Our goal is to make every homeowner feel heard and supported, ensuring their journey is as seamless and personal. More than delivering on our promises — it’s about creating a home and a community where they truly belong.”

This commitment to a ‘Life, Better Built’ is reflected in every aspect of the homeowner journey, including the Experience Centre — a space designed to bring that vision to life.

An Immersive Homebuying Experience

To paint the Experience Centre’s picture: the sprawling space is divided into two seamlessly integrated spaces — one for sales, the other for design — separated by those aforementioned tall glass walls. On entry, visitors are met by a visually striking and tech-forward space, which features SEG backlit displays showcasing Camcos communities, a 98-inch presentation screen backed by a Sonos-integrated PA system, multiple 60-inch interactive touchscreens for site plan, design, and community feature explorations, and still more.

The Centre’s floor plan includes three sales workstations, equipped with touchscreen laptops and synchronized external displays, plus a communication room for private meetings.

In short, the space is primed for a seamless visitor experience on the day-to-day, with all the makings for breezy meetings and industry events, too.

Where Inspiration Meets Innovation

“Every corner in the studio,” Malik says, “every surface, every light has been carefully designed to foster a sense of wonder and excitement. The interactive piece of the studio was a very important component of the design, as it keeps the customer involved in the design process — from beginning to end.”

Central to the Experience Centre, the company’s values are prominently displayed on the wall, serving as a constant reminder that these principles are not just words — they are the foundation of their work.

“The Experience Centre,” Malik explains, “is where inspiration meets innovation.”

What, How, And Who

Arguably, “inspiration [meeting] innovation” could be said to capture Camcos’ entire ethos. For this developer, leadership isn’t just about steering the company itself forward — it’s about shaping the future of the industry.

“What matters to our customers matters to us,” says Alim, “and this is reflected in everything we do.”

With women leading at every level, and a commitment to enhancing the homebuying experience underscoring every company move, Camcos proves that the future of real estate is about more than just what’s being built — it’s about who’s building it.
